The bigger the image is the better it well look when resizing it to a smaller size. How ever when you resize something bigger it going to lose detail no matter what. This goes for all programs for image editing. Best thing to do is make your images big because then when you resize them to be smaller, they thend to still look good.

I think the printing wizard is great because it lets me pick the print sizes. It makes printing good for home base and office base. It also lets you pick the printer set up. If it was not for the printing wizard I would of click the print button so many times and wasted so much ink and papper.

You already made a topic asking for this. Why make another ? It does not help you get that feature.

I have not seen this yet in any program for image editing. I don't know if you can even do it but it be nice if you could. I like to see a button to let you move A selection into the middle of the canvas. Why did I think this is a nice tool to have ? Well I doing an image and I need to put another image right in the middle and when doing it by hand you tend to mess it up and have to count the pixels on each side. But with an option to click a button and let the program find were the middle, well you can see how that saves time and work. But can it be done ? I have yet to see a program with it or if I did see one with it then I never notice it.

lol I did a search for Custom GUI. Sorry my bad for not think to look up skins. Yes rick making skins would be a waste of development effort but you would not have to really make any skins. The whole point of it would be for the users of Paint.NET to be able to make there own and let people download them. kinda like what Xfire did with there program that they started when they were doing programing for there coruse's. I my self would like to be able to make Paint.NET darker as I find I can only use it in the day time with out burning my eye's out of my skull :shock:. Thing is I am in college all day so I don't get to play with it much. I can't help it I am a night gamer, I play games in the dark till like 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Even the skin on this fourms hurts my eye's. So even though it be a "waste" to you, it still may be something useful to someone else. Matter a fact I bet if it was in Paint.NET there would be 100's of skins made by uses. People like to stand out, it why people download themes for windows, make there own web page layout, xfire skins, mod there computers, ect.. I not trying to force it on you or anything rick but I just think it be nice to think about doing some time down the road that all.

Well I always like how most of the newer software out there now lets you download skins or make your own. I think this would be a great idea to try and add to Paint.NET. Think about how you could download new GUI's for the program or make your own custom GUI. Turn that windows looking GUI into a fun GUI . I know it be some work but does Paint.NET plan to do it at some point ?

Thank you for pinning this up BoltBait. Yes I understand what you mean. What about PostScript fonts ? Anyway when you download your fonts they should be .ttf files. I belive .ttf fonts are True Type.

thanks Dan. No the dex is not for Dexter . A long time ago like I was saying in the 1st post. I had this plan to make a tutorial site and called it Dextut. Because I wanted to keep this site open to all tutorials I needed a name that was unique to users and was not base on one app or program. At the time I started to do a site layout and a cartoon computer with eyes and a mouth. Yes the cartoon computer was Dex the mascot for the site to be. Why a talking computer for a mascot ? Well like I told you I suck that drawing and making images even though I like to play with then and try to make good looking images. So it was not to hard to make a box lol . If you like to make a mascot named Dex I be more then happy to see what you come up with. I think some people here would like to do that for fun.

Well I tryed my very low skills at this and came up with this. I know it not very good but that why I asked for people to post there own to help me out .

It looks like he used the paint brush to make a a lot of lines and stops. Then blur the lines to get the liquid. But the chrome looks like it made up of 2 or 3 layers using gradient.

Ok the tutorial site domain is dextut.com Dan I still waiting for your ideas on layout and anyone else's. Also need to think of a logo for dextut. This site will host other tutorials as well but for Paint.NET I am going to make it have it's own sub-domain. So if you want to do a layout that is subject to Paint.NET it will not be a problem as the sub-domain will act as a site on it own.

Well why not go for a full out webpage layout. Have a header that joins to a side bar. Your links on the side bar and then down at the bottom a small bar to shows the end of the website and under it the copyright information. Should look good. I not to good at graphic's but if you have no idea what I trying to say I could do a basic layout to show how it be placed on the site. As for the look of the lay out I think black background, The header and side bar gray, blue, and black with a shin.

I tryed them before but never could get them to look real so maybe now with your tutorial I may be able to get a nice one done .

I was hoping you would be Dan as I do like your work with html, css, and tutorials. I don't have much time to talk about this right now but I like to here your ideas on how you think the design show be done. So far I am looking at something that does not look to complex or to basic to the users eye. I also think that some of the tutorial page will be different then looking like the site. (Mine most likey as I like to do them as html projects) So shoot me som ideas and plans. I will be setting up the domain to night for the site and FTP later. PS: Do you have a mic ?

Domain names is not a problem nor is space. I get 5 free domain name for life with my hosting plan and they can be any of the domain exts (eg: .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, ect). As for space, well in my 1st post I gave you my hosting plan info. So what part did you want to help with ?
