Yup, that really helped! I didn't turn off Controlled Folder Access completely but I changed it to allow paint.net. I had rolled back to version 4.2 so now I should probably be okay upgrading to 5.0. Thanks so much for your help! I never would have figured out how to fix the problem.

Since upgrading to 5.0, I'm having problems writing out a .pdn file using either "save" or "save as". I tried rolling back to an earlier version but that no longer can write either. The error indicates a "file not found" (even using "save as"). Why would the software be looking for an existing file with a "save as"? Is there something I can do to correct this? It's made paint.net completely unusable. Thanks for any help you can provide!
