  1. I think my antivirus software should do an okay job. I might double check with a different antivirus just to be on the safe side. Thanks for your reply!
  2. Hello, I decided to reply to this topic because I have experienced something similar to what is described in the first post. The day before yesterday, I opened Paint.NET and was told there was an update (I believe it was 4.09). When I agreed to update, I was told that a new .NET Framework needed to be installed, which I agreed to. After that, almost the exact same thing happened that is described in the first post of this topic - including the progress bars for download and installation, the 'Set up FrontEnd.exe' dialogue box, and the "dotnetsocial" webpage. Since I hadn't heard of this webpage before, I was very hesitant to download anything from it - but unfortunately, the download happened automatically before I had time to stop it. I suspected that there might be viruses involved, so I immediately deleted the downloaded file and removed it from the recycle bin. After this, I scanned the computer with my antivirus, which didn't find anything. (The only unusual thing that happened in this situation is that, when I tried Googling for help, Google suddenly wanted me to enter some characters to prove I wasn't a robot. This has never happened to me before, but fortunately it stopped happening after a while.) As of now, I haven't seen anything to indicate that there might still be viruses in my computer. However, I'd like to ask the users of this forum if anyone has experienced something similar when trying to update Paint.NET. Is there anyone who is familiar with this "dotnetsocial" website, and knows if my computer might still be at risk?
