tom.stein
When opening a TIF file that includes several images (like typical fax files), paint.net only opens the first image. There is no warning that more images are in that file (meaning when re-saving the file those other images are lost), and there is no way to access those other images. I don't know wheater a tif image can contain several layers. If not, a solution could be to load every tif image into a separate layer (so the file can be saved as it was). Another solution might be loading each image into its own image window (so the file can not be saved as it was, but it can be used and saved in different files). If no handling of several images in one file is planned, at least a warning should tell the user that the loaded file consists of more than one image.
