Once extraction is complete, installation does not beginn (no error)

Recommended Posts

Hello experts,

I can not install Paint.NET.

I have tried the latest version (3.5.11) and some older (3.5.10; 3.5).

Problem: Once extraction is complete, installation does not begin. No harm done! No new window, no error.

I have turned off my AV software (avast!) and windows firewall but it did not help.

For information:
- operating system: Win7, 64bit
- latest Windows updates are installed
- Windows Modules Installer: Startup type: Manual

If I try to start the portable version, nothing too!

On other desktop pcs it works fine (Win7, 32 and 64 bit).

Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

I would be glad to get a reply to that question.

kr, kooler

I have found these two threads:

http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/18766-unable-to-install-paintnet/

The authors describe my problem exactly.

Here is the content of my logfile PdnSetupShim.log:

Do you have any idea what I could do?

edit: I have never installed Paint.NET before.
