Hello Team,

I am using Xtrackcad to design my model railway layout so that it can be easily transfered into JMRI later to control it. The problem is that Xtrackcad does not have a Graphical interface to allow images - scanned or photographs - to be imported and used as one of its layer over which we can then add the actual track work on different layers.

Such a system, from Roco, was demonstrated at the NEC last year when a simple, hand-drawn sketch and a photograph were used as a basis for creating the actual layout. Very elegant and saves so much time.

I am wondering if Paint can be used to achieve the same end. There is a similar program already out there called Afloat used by the Mac system to do this.

I found your website whilst investigating this problem.

Any helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated.

DCCDave.
