Shadow and Highlight

Hi Im' new here so don't have much experience.

 

I have a family picture where two of my family members got too much light. I downloaded the sahdow / highlight plugin but I just can't get it to work as I want to. Can anyone let me know if theres a tutorial or another tool that could help me with changing the highlight and shadow of only certain faces in a single picture?

Use freeform select to select their face, then use adjustments hue/saturation to change it.

 

That always has worked for me in *MOST* situations.
