Update and De-install stalls due to missing .msi-file

Recommended Posts

When trying to update to paint.net 3.5.8 from 3.5.5 the installation stalls shortly before finishing, claiming that a network resource - the file paintDotNet_1950225615.msi - is missing. The file is nowhere on my computer and it is possible that (since it was stowed in a temp-folder, according to the mentioned path), it was deleted by an over-eager cleaning-program. De- and re-installing does not help either, since it seemingly does need this file for a de-install as well. Is there any way to get this file, so i can update?
