dreamy747
Please help? This is the whole reason I joined, was to ask this question, so can you please answer it? How do you unzip a plugin? Resolved. Thanks! Edited July 28, 2010 by dreamy747
Sarkut
Right-click > Extract All... This only applies to plugins contained in a zipfile. With a .zip extension, that is. =================================================== I usually don't unzip them. I simply open them by left-clicking and copy/paste the files into the correct folder. Sarkut
If Paint.NET was open when you put them in, close and re-open Paint.NET.
dreamy747
If Paint.NET was open when you put them in, close and re-open Paint.NET. Okay, I closed and reopened Paint.NET but only 2 or 3 of the plugins came up, under effects. (All the plugins are in the folder, 'Effects'.) Sarkut
Some of them will be sub-menu items. Effects > Selection Effects > Object etc. Edited July 28, 2010 by Sarkut

Sarkut
Please open the Effects folder and post a screenshot showing the folder contents and the folder address bar showing the full path to the folder.

Sarkut
Most of the plugins are still inside the zipfiles. That won't work.
dreamy747
Most of the plugins are still inside the zipfiles. That won't work. That's why I was asking how to get them out
Sarkut
Download the zips to your Desktop or Downloads folder. Open them by left-clicking. If there are any folders inside the zip left-click to open them. Copy/paste the plugin files to the Effects folder. Copy the files only, don't copy the folders. dreamy747
What am I supposed to open them with? I tried Internet explorer, (It was reccomended) and internet explorer kept blinking, trying to decide whether to work or not. It blinks so fast, and so long I keep turning off my computer, so that it will stop.
Sarkut
When you download choose the Save option. Open them with left-clicking. Windows has built-in zip functionality.
dreamy747
Okay, but how do you dowload them? (Sorry if I'm annoying, I just still don't get it.) edit~ Do I need to go and relocate the plugin forum? Sarkut
Looking at your screenshots, it may be that your OS file associations for .zip are screwed up. What OS version are you using? (XP, Vista etc.) ================================================ Re: Downloading It looks like you did it okay previously. So, if you re-do it, yes go back to the plugins forum. If you still have the zips on your Desktop, use them. Edited July 28, 2010 by Sarkut
