making drawing objects act more like text tool

I'm new to Paint.NET so I'm still getting used to the software (which software is outstanding by the way).

Is it possible to make a software change where drawing objects (lines, squares, ovals, ellipse & freeform) act like the "text tool" does in terms of formatting and moving before committing them to the layer?

This would be very handy.
