Help with transperant pixels

I have been working on dds files (altering bitmap images) for in game modifcations. I have a problem were when I walk away from an object that has a new skin or panit on it it turns black at a short distance. all the games models have "multipurpose bitmaps" that contain an over layer of the original but i dont know how to make it stay that colors i want it. ( also the mp bitmap is pink and clear on the original dds i don't know why either)

help if you can i am confuzed :shock:
