A question regarding recovering files opened in paint.net

Recommended Posts

There is nothing that you can do to recover the paint.net edits that you were in the process of making. paint.net does not have a means of auto-saving as you edit or restoring from 'recovery' files.

If you are working on a complex/time-consuming/important project, then the advice is to manually save your progress periodically.

my pc was running through a couple issues so I had to restart (was not able to save my progress) And when i rebooted my pc the file was gone even though I swear I saved the files days prior. Is there any way i can recover this file?

This is not a paint.net issue.

Your files are either present where you previously saved them or they have been moved or deleted.

Did you accidentally move them or the folder they were in? Have you tried a search of the entire file system using File Explorer from C:\ downwards?

Have you checked the Recycle Bin?
