  2. I haven't used paint.net for quite a few years and am just getting back into photo editing. I'm trying to take a thought bubble (like from a comic) and pretty much copy a background image into only the inside of the bubble. What I've tried doing so far, is placing a basic white thought bubble over my background and using the layer properties, make the inside of the thought bubble transparent. Now with the bubble being on the 2nd layer I can use the magic wand to select the bubble itself without all the background jumbo. Is there a way to cut the background out then? Or do I actually have to put my bubble down and manually cut it out? Thanks mates Ok, never mind. I figured it out. All I had to do was select with the magic wand, THEN merge the two layers. Cut and done!
