  1. Thanks but this doesn't satisfy my feature request: I want to save each selection as an separate individual jpg, png or whatever. I'm not interesting in saving layers. To recap: I want to be able to 1) make multiple selections and 2) save each one as an individual separate bitmap jpg/png etc file. Paint.NET allows 1) but it cannot save each selection as a separate individual bitmap file - i.e. a jpg, png etc. Once I have made the selections I want to be able to click a button or menu option, and have Paint.NET ask me, for each selection, what file name to save that selection as, to repeat this until all selections have been saved.
  2. So far so good. Then... - I need more detail. Copy what? Paste what? (and where to?) and Save what? If, after doing the multiple selection, I then select copy, paste and then save from the various drop down menus, it just saves to one file. It does not give me the option to save each selection as a separate, different individual file - and asking each time for each selection. Perhaps I didn't provide enough detail in this posting about what I needed, but I certainly did in the post I made in that link I gave: "Is there an image editor that allows you to select several crop regions and save each one as an individual file?" ( http://superuser.com...ections-to-be-s ) Thanks for your input.
  3. In Paint.NET I'd like to be able to make several rectangular selections on an image and then be able click save for them each to be saved. At the moment, Paint.NET (and many other similar tools) only allow once rectangular selection at a time. My request includes that it must be possible for the rectangular selections to be separate from each other and not adjacent, and of different sizes. I've also asked the question here: http://superuser.com...ections-to-be-s Thoughts? Could a plug-in be developed? What languages? C++? etc? Develop in Visual Studio Express (free IDE) or what other tools?
