If you are given a choice between Open with

and Save File when downloading, choose Save File.

It sounds like your OS file associations may be screwed up.

What OS version are you using? (XP, Vista, etc.)

Yeah, i used both options. Both times it opened as a word document.

I am using Vista.

when i download it, it downloads and opens as a word document. when it opens it says: The file Paint.NET 3.5.5 cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. It also says: Details - Microsoft Office cannot open this file as some parts are missing or invalid.

Somebody please help!
