Thank you so much for the response. CTRL+D did the trick. I'm sure I'll have many more questions as I'm just learning the program.

I have the latest version of Paint.net and I am having a problem with the eraser too. I used the magic wand to get rid of a background and was cleaning up what was left with the eraser. When I used the magic wand again and tried to use the eraser I couldn't get it to work. I am new to the program so perhaps I'm missing something. Thank you, Billie
