  1. Thanks Brad, Yup, I'm also looking at the AMD X6 110T for about $190 when purchased in a combo deal from Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.569868 If I go that way, I'll have to decide on a compatible video card for around $200. The other prices from my list of options are also from Newegg. I still don't know anything about features or compatibility of a graphics tablet. Any thoughts on what I should be looking for there?
  2. Thank you BoltBait, for the insight, Yes, I'll defiantly be running windows 7. What sort of graphic tablet would best suit a novice level user, and is it because of the tablet, or other reasons to go with the intel processors?
  3. Hi, I'm building a new desktop this week and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to recommended processors and video cards to fully support best performance of PDN and a graphics tablet. I am also shopping for a tablet, something around $80, and would also welcome suggestions on this topic. I use PDN for my personal projects, and don't need all the high end stuff, just an economical and expandable general purpose system. Attached are some preliminary selections I have made. Any feedback or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Frank
  4. Import brushes takes me to a window titled: Draw with Custom Brushes... Look In: Paint.NET, a folder from My Documents that I use to save my work. After navigating around a bit, I find a thumb cache at that is empty. Was I wrong to unzip your files to the desktop, and then drop them into their appropriate folders?
  5. Thanks for the tip Simon. I dropped CustomBrushesMini.dll into the effects folder. I dropped all the contents of File Types into the File Types folder. I restarted pdn. I dropped down the effects menu. I chose cbm and have no available brushes. I also found a thumb cache at that is empty. I checked the forum for help. BoltBait's Pages - Installing Effects, suggests: Just drop this DLL file in your \program files\Paint.NET\effects directory and you should be all set. My Search attempt returned the following: The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: plugin custombrushesmini+plugin. You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 21 characters excluding wildcards. Any suggestions?
  6. I am a brand new Newbie, and have read everything I could get my hands on about downloading plugins, posting, forum rules, system requirements, and latest versions of pdn. I have pdn version 3.36 and am running XP sp2. I am using FireFox 3. My Scripts are enabled. AdvastAntivirus is on. When I navigate to the plugins page and choose Simon B's plugin pack (including CustomBrushesMini), I see a list of plugins. After selecting CustomBrushesMini, I get a second page showing a sample menu for CustomBrushesMini and DOWNLOAD at the top of the page. Upon clicking Download, I am returned to the original page, Simon B's plugin pack (including CustomBrushesMini). I was expecting to download a file and install it in the pdn\effects folder. Apparently, I haven't read enough yet. I really enjoy pdn, and would like to learn more about plugins and how to use them. Could someone please get me going on the right track, so that I can learn the ins and outs on my own? Thanks in advance, Frank
