it seems to me that... When i start up PDN (and maybe do some work) and When i do (Adjustments) [Invert Colors] for the first time, it fails maybe 70--90% of the time. (how it fails is... there are large rectangular blotches of transparent areas), So i do Undo and try it again, and the 2nd time is a success 95% of the time.

(i'm pasting a big image into a smaller canvas) [Expand canvas], [Keep canvas size] ----- The more obvious Option is --- (What i do 99% of the time) Shrink it 50% or 25% or 20% (or 10% ...) -- until it's small enough to fit. User-customizable convention (default) would be nice. I'd set it to (the above) and/or Shrink it so that it's 50% of biggest size that fits inside the canvas. Another possible option is [shrink it just enough to fit the canvas] --------- but i wouldn't use this even if this was available. ----- this is almost never what i'd want to do. (Maybe i'd use it... I can just shrink it after it is pasted.) ___________These 2 options confused me SO MUCH that ... for the past 12+ years, i've been doing this: i try to paste the image, but the image is too big for the canvas So i go back to the [To-be-embedded] image, Resize: shrink it down 50%, Copy it And try to paste again --- but PDN tells me that it's still too big So i go back to the [To-be-embedded] image, Resize: shrink it down 25%, Copy it And try to paste again --- but PDN tells me that it's still too big Etc. You wizards may think [Few ppl are that stupid] ---- No, no, no... i'm Super-computer-savvy compared to... many others, who are using Caps-Lock (for each letter), when they should be using the SHIFT key many others, who are unaware of [Text-Search] within a Web page... Google started including the following note: >>> Tip: To quickly find your search term on this page, press Ctrl+F or ⌘-F (Mac) and use the find bar.

Great question and Great answer ! -- (i'll try this method in the future) (When i tried it before, the result looked too Square)

So... maybe the default should be (could be) [UNfrozen, Top-Left] -- as shown above. i'd want to make it smaller and move it to the top of the screen (usually Top, Left) (usually Top, Left) --- (the reason for this is...) -- i'm opening up an existing image usually to run an effect on it, and the effect-control-menu opens up on the RHS (right hand side).

(two minor complaints, or Observations) When PDN opens up an existing image, . . . (1) the img is a bit too big on the screen (for my taste), and i'd want to make it smaller and move it to the top of the screen (usually Top, Left) (usually Top, Left) --- the reason for this must be obvious -- i'm opening up an existing image usually to run an effect on it, and the effect-control-menu opens up on the RHS (right hand side). (2) but i can't move it with my Mouse-Wheel because the image is "frozen" -- i have to 1st unfreeze it by making it smaller by (Control + Mouse-Wheel-rotation). --------- (is there another way to unfreeze it?) ---------- So this means that ... There are 10 or so steps i have to do (almost every time i use PDN) -- (Computers were invented so that human don't have to do the same things 20 or 40 times a day).... early Windows versions were full of these, and today, Windows forces me to do the same 10 or so steps (most noticeably) in two ways: 1. (e.g.) When a folder is full of img files, Windows second-guesses my intent and gives me the Thumb-nail view... Sometimes i change it back to the Details view that i prefer. (it's a bit comical, when Windows changes it back to the unwanted Thumb-nail view, only seconds later.) 2. (e.g.) When i do a Right-Click on an img file, 99.99% of the time, i want to open it up by PDN -- but Windows annoyingly buries the [Open-with] option hidden toward the very bottom.

A quirk i noticed was... With the Rectangle tool, the boundaries are always crisp, but... With the Line/Curve tool, when i draw a horizontal (or vertical) line, i get a fuzzy boundary maybe 20% of the time. -- fuzzy as in [50% transparent], (as in dithering). If Line-Width=4 gives me a fuzzy boundary, then width=3 or 5 gets rid of it. (i think even Line-Width gives me a fuzzy-boundary sometimes) Also.... For the Line/Curve tool, i use the default FLAT end most of the time, and the ROUNDED end maybe 20% of the time. If Pointed-end and Sharp-Pointed-end styles were available, i'd probably use them.

When i'm using the [Line/Curve] tool, ... and the Arrow-keys to move the Line/Curve to the desired location ... and i hit ESC to finalize... But, SOMETIMES, When i hit ESC, instead of getting fixed there , PDN _backs up one_ and then fixes the Line/Curve there. (So i end up hitting Ctrl-Z and redoing it) This seems to occur maybe 5% of the time.... Have others noticed this?

2nd-image -- Can i darken the outside (contour) in a graduated way? Then i used [Neon-Edges] -- (i like it that the Contour (or Eges) are dark -- can i make it darker?) Ok, (replacing the white spots with black, and) Average-Color-Blur (with Radius=2) got me the last image (a bit lame) --- is there a plugin that can give me this (from the "A" that i started with) ??? (open-ended question) Other ways of filling the inside of an Object (shape) with many colors ??? (wavy lines, spirals, etc.) Add: (darkening Contour -- seems to be related to this topic -- i'll look into it!)

I stated from a (green?) object of the above shape, and used [Bevel-Object] (yellow, red lights) to get Rainbow colors (see above). but currently i can't do this reliably. (e.g. Often i can't get Indigo and Violet) Any tips or suggestions? Maybe i need a tool similar to [Hue / Saturation +] but which lets me get all these precise colors.
