I think something happened when WindowsXP Update installed the latest .net SP2 updates. My Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008 suddenly started to show module-load errors when starting up pointing to a .net 3.5 problem. Did a repair-install and all was well again. no idea what happened...

Re-install .NET 3.5 and the problem went away for me
