  1. I followed up your suggestions and all now works perfectly. My error was not pulling the new sky down far enough, leaving me thinking it was going to remain a rectangle and not following the contours. Many thanks for your help and for solving my problem. ddd
  2. Thanks very much for the suggestions which I will try out over the weekend. I will let you know how I get on. I'm 78 years of age and very much a novice to PaintNet! ddd
  3. I've been trying without success to replace a poor sky with a better image. The method I am using is: 1. In the original image with the poor sky I use the Magic Wand to select the sky, then I delete it getting the checkerboard pattern. 2. Next I open a new image of a better sky and copy it. 3. I then return to the original image, click selected area (checkerboard) and paste in the better sky from step 2. My problem is each time I paste in the better sky it appears and stays as a RECTANGLE and will not fit and follow the contours of the original selected area. How can I get it to fit exactly? Am I missing a step? Very grateful for any advice. ddd
  4. Many thanks for your reply and suggestions. I will follow these up over the next day or two and let you know how I get on. I could not work out how to send the images as they are not on the internet. ddd
  5. I'm new to Paint.net and am struggling. I want to add a new sky to replace a washed out sky. On the main image I have selected the poor sky with the Magic Wand. Then I have copied a new sky image and tried to paste into selected area but all I get is a small rectangle of the new sky which does not fill the selected area. Grateful for any advice ,tips or refs. ddd
