    A simple request! How do I 'feather' the edge of a selection? I.E. I make a ellipse selection and can crop to selection, but I don't want a hard edge, but 'feathered' to the transparent background.

    I am trying to produce a logo with a faded colour gradient background that goes to transparent. I can produce one that fades to white but I need the document background colour to bleed through. Any ideas please? Have been using PAINT for some time now - excellent program.
