I'm having a really strange problem-- after an indeterminate time, my mouse freezes. The behavior seems to have started since I installed .Net 2.0 and Paint.NET. When I use Paint.NET for awhile, sometimes a minute, sometimes hours, my mouse will freeze. The mouse simply stops responding. I'm using a USB mouse plugged into my laptop, and the laptop's trackpad continues to move the cursor just fine. If I unplug the mouse, wait for the beep, then plug it back in, it will work again. For awhile. I'm having a really hard time believing Paint.NET could be causing this, but I haven't installed anything else on my laptop for months. I tried using a different mouse, same result. My laptop dual-boots into Ubuntu Linux, and the mouse has no problems there. I would really appreciate any suggestions on eliminating Paint.NET as a possible cause, and/or further troubleshooting suggestions!
