  1. OK, I think it's not a bug in Paint.NET itself. I just started Paint.NET and it worked like it used to work. The problem seems to have disappeared. If I examine the Event Viewer, I can see only a few things that have changed my configuration over the past few days: "Update for Office 2007 (KB946691)" was installed, the Photosynth ActiveX plug-in was installed, and I removed BOINC. But I'm not sure if and why this could influence the mouse behavior.

  2. Maybe Mono could be a solution in the future. As you know or not know, the Mono-guys are using Paint.NET as a test case. And, because Mono runs on OSX, you could use it to run Paint.NET on OSX. Of course, they are still lacking complete support for Windows Forms 2.0, so you can't run the lastest version of Paint.NET yet. More technical details here: http://tirania.org/blog/archive/2006/Dec-16-1.html

EDIT: I accidently created a new thread. This post should be a reply to this thread: Need paint.net for mac!

  3. While messing around in Paint.NET, practicing a bit, I created alternative Paint.NET web buttons. They look like the 2 existing Paint.NET web buttons, but the text is more explicit (bolder Paint.NET logo, lighter Made with/Get it now!). I hope you like them.

    Original buttons: getpdn.png and madewithpdn.png

    My buttons: getitnowpdn.png and madewithpdn.png

Rick, if you want them, they're yours.

  4. With the 2.6 final version, I still have this problem.

After getting this error message, in "C:\Documents and Settings\tommy.carlier\Local Settings\Temp\PdnSetup" I can find 1 file: SetupFrontEnd, which is only 68KB. So my guess would be that some files were not extracted properly.

    Any ideas?

  5. I get this exception when I try to install Paint.NET 2.6 RC2 (also had it with previous versions of 2.6) on my WinXP SP2 PC at work (I didn't get the exception on my WinXP SP2 PC at home):

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'PaintDotNet.Resources, Version=2.6.2232.23934, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.

To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.

Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.

To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].
