  1. OK, I think it's not a bug in Paint.NET itself. I just started Paint.NET and it worked like it used to work. The problem seems to have disappeared. If I examine the Event Viewer, I can see only a few things that have changed my configuration over the past few days: "Update for Office 2007 (KB946691)" was installed, the Photosynth ActiveX plug-in was installed, and I removed BOINC. But I'm not sure if and why this could influence the mouse behavior.
  2. I just updated to version 3.30 and now have the same problem. It only occurs with the following tools: Paintbrush, Line/Curve, Rectangle, Rounded Rectangle, Ellipse, Freeform Shape. It doesn't occur when I use the Wacom pen, only when I use the mouse.
  3. The current icons are very recognizable. But if you really want to refresh them for free without creating them yourself, you could check out the FamFamFam Silk Icons: http://www.famfamfam.com/lab/icons/ It's a pretty large collection.
  4. Maybe Mono could be a solution in the future. As you know or not know, the Mono-guys are using Paint.NET as a test case. And, because Mono runs on OSX, you could use it to run Paint.NET on OSX. Of course, they are still lacking complete support for Windows Forms 2.0, so you can't run the lastest version of Paint.NET yet. More technical details here: http://tirania.org/blog/archive/2006/Dec-16-1.html EDIT: I accidently created a new thread. This post should be a reply to this thread: Need paint.net for mac!
  5. I actually like the idea. Makes it a lot easier to align stuff, to find the center of the image. And not only for the x/y indicator on the bottom right, but also for the rulers. Remember Paint.NET can be used for other stuff than just photo editing.
  6. I can only answer the first question: MDI is coming in the next version. See this blog post.
  7. I developed a screen capture application a while ago. It's freeware, and you can download it here.
  8. I'm surprised nobody suggested Windows' Character Map. Start > Programs > Accessories > Character Map Great for getting all kinds of characters.
  9. Here's a workaround: you could create a new image that is bigger, and paste this image in it, making sure the tyre is at the center. Then you do the radial blur, and cut out the original image again.
  10. Can't someone write a plugin for this? Or are plugins not suitable for this kind of functionality?
  11. - Paint NG, short for Next Generation. - Paynt - Microsoft® Expression® Bitmap Designer
  12. While messing around in Paint.NET, practicing a bit, I created alternative Paint.NET web buttons. They look like the 2 existing Paint.NET web buttons, but the text is more explicit (bolder Paint.NET logo, lighter Made with/Get it now!). I hope you like them. Original buttons: and My buttons: and Rick, if you want them, they're yours.
  13. With the 2.6 final version, I still have this problem. After getting this error message, in "C:\Documents and Settings\tommy.carlier\Local Settings\Temp\PdnSetup" I can find 1 file: SetupFrontEnd, which is only 68KB. So my guess would be that some files were not extracted properly. Any ideas?
  14. I get this exception when I try to install Paint.NET 2.6 RC2 (also had it with previous versions of 2.6) on my WinXP SP2 PC at work (I didn't get the exception on my WinXP SP2 PC at home): System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'PaintDotNet.Resources, Version=2.6.2232.23934, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
