yeah it didnt work, i guess i'll have to use something else until i get this fixed, thanks for the help! might be the OS though, as ive reinstalled it without formatting beforehand by mistake so i guess ill have to reinstall it again or just download another one entirely also if you dont mind answering: i tried using the system file checker but it didnt work so does that confirm that its the OS or the hdd? or something else?

it didn't fix the issue, ive also not downloaded paint.net on this system before so i dont have any other instances of it present in the system

the installation usually follows through as normal, but when it ends extracting it says the following: "Installation of paint.net failed" with the error code (-1073740791, 0xC0000409) ive got the latest version of the .NET framework
