If it takes 21 seconds to start for the first time, and is nearly instant the 2nd, then your hard drive is slow. Getting an SSD will help enormously.

Anyway, I don't think there's anything new to see here: lots of plugins + slow computer = long startup :)

LOL, I have a fast PC with SSD.

But I'll remove some plugins and see if that changes things.  I think I got all those plugins from a pack.

  2. I guess it's because the update window would popup after the delay was finished, although that might be a consequence of the delay rather than a cause of it.  I just opened the program to test, on a fast Win10 machine with SSD, and after all the features became visible, there was a 15 second delay before I hovering over an icon would feedback.  I'm not sure our internet is actually that slow either.

  3. I love using Paint.Net for doing quick jobs, but when I open it, it goes to the internet to check for updates before I can do anything.  When internet is slow, this is painfully frustrating.

Please can we have an option to determine how we want to get our updates?  I'd like to specify that I'll only get updates when I want them.  I don't think Paint.Net is a security risk that requires high priority updates, right?
