Paint.net forum, I downloaded Paint.net 4.0.0 and this is my first time using a paint program. In my session I have opened 2 pdf files. One contains a simple drawing and the other is just a solid color. My goal is to use one as a background and then make it transparent. They are shown as 2 different layers and I labeled one Foreground and the other Background. I have successfully erased the white pixels around the drawing and now I want to merge the 2 layers together. When I click on "Layers" the Merge option is grayed out. What am I doing wrong? Jerry D.
