Have you tried OS/Program Files/Paint.net/Pdn Repair ?
I tried repairing the program from the control panel and it didn't help, unless you're referring to something else.
You might have an old beta installation of some Visual Studio product ... /hypothesis
Installing this should fix it: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
That didn't help, either. Same error message. : (

So I installed paint.NET a while ago and never had any problems until I went to start it today. Suddenly I've apparently got a .dll file missing? I tried uninstalling and re-installing, but I can't seem to fix it.
I tried just downloading the .dll, but according to the error message, it's missing from MANY locations, and manually adding it to all of these folders seems like far too much--hopefully there's another way to fix it.
I've also searched around but it doesn't seem like anyone else is having this problem.
Attached a screenshot of the error message.

Update:
When I shut my computer earlier today, it installed a few updates. I decided to try installing paint.net again just in case and...it seems to be working. I guess whatever was causing the problem was resolved by those updates?
In case anyone is curious, I attached a screenshot of all the updates that were installed.
Anyway, I guess this problem is resolved now.
