  1. I recently upgraded my computer to Windows 11 and re-installed paint.net. I've noticed a small issue that is a minor annoyance, but really disrupts workflow. On the Windows 8.1 machine I was using previously, if I wanted to adjust the cursor size (Brush Width tool) when (for example) erasing background around an image I wanted to isolate; I would just click the cursor size (Brush Width tool) window in the tool bar menu once, and then I could manually scale the cursor size up or down using the mouse scroll wheel while navigating around the image. Only when I clicked the mouse would the (Brush Width tool) size be set. This made it really useful because I could drag the cursor to the area I wanted to erase and then move the scroll wheel accordingly until the cursor was the exact right size to erase what was needed. This was perfect for fitting into tight spaces. Since the Windows 11 upgrade, I can only adjust the cursor size (Brush Width tool) when my mouse is hovering over the Brush Width Tool window in the tool bar. As soon as I move the cursor to the image, the size I previously selected is locked in until I make another manual adjustment in the tool bar menu. This means I have to go back and forth a few times until I find the right size for the cursor. It's quite disruptive and adds about two or three extra steps to what used to be a very simple task. I've searched all through the interface settings and can't seem to find any option to address this. It's strange because I re-installed Paint.net from the same version I downloaded from the windows 8.1 machine, but for some reason the change takes place in the background and I can't figure out why. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. Heretic.
  2. Hi Everyone. I use paint.net on my desktop with Windows 8.1 pro. When I use the paint brush tool (or other tools that allow sizing) I can simply click the font size window, and then use the mouse wheel to scroll to the required size with my cursor anywhere on the screen. This is useful, for example, when erasing because sometimes you need to use the size of the circle cursor to determine whether it will fit the area that needs to be erased without taking off some of the edge. However, on my laptop which is running Windows 10, I find that I can only use the mouse scroll wheel to change the font size when my cursor is hovering over the font number window on the tool bar, and I can't resize the tool cursor on screen. This is frustrating because you constantly have to return the mouse to the tool bar to narrow down the size until it's correct. Can anyone let me know if there is a way to edit this functionality in the settings on Windows 10? (Running ver. 4.0.9 on both systems.) Thanks in advance. Heretic
  3. Hi Everyone. I was wondering if anyone could advise if it is possible to deselect select elements of an area that has already been selected? In other words, lets say I use the magic wand to select the sky in the picture of a sunset while the mountains and the rest of the foreground remain unselecte. If the sun is included in the selection if the sky, is there any way for me to exclude the sun from the area I've selected? (p.s. this example is used only to illustrate the concept by example. I know there would be other ways to achieve this goal, e.g. selecting the sun independently of the sky and copy pasting to another layer...etc.) Furthermore, is it possible to add negative space as a color, or to fill an area with negative space using the Paint Bucket? Thanks very much... Heretic
