Greetings.
I'm trying to understand how the metalize plugin works. I'm trying to make a shape look like gold, eventually. Some clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

Greetings,
I'm interested in drawing a 3D cone, but can't find the right plugin for this. Is there one? Also, if I drew a cone seen directly from above, such as a tower's roof (basically a circle with a central point) how would I get the sort of shading that would convey the idea this is a conical shape? The conical gradient built into the basic Paint Net version doesn't quite work in this respect. I tried bevelling, but this produces more of a spherical cupola effect. Thanks!

Hi Rick. Will there be some future update enabling toolbar customization? It's been five years since the original question. Perhaps this has become a consideration since then.

Thanks! I didn't realise it was listed in that menu. All good now.

Great! I'll remember that one. Cheers!

OK, thanks again for your help. I reran the plugin at 600 dpi, and the discrepancy is just about gone. I used foreground colors only, which produced a grid on a transparent layer. So far so good!

The grid lines are set at 1 pixel. Should I shoot for a higher resolution yet? Also, is there a way to produce a grid on a transparent background? Right now I'm generating grids on a white canvas. Thanks for your help!

I started over with a new page, 8.5 x 5.5 and reran the grid app. I just needed a grid, not a checkerboard. The res is 300 dpi. This time, the grid is only just a hair off. Not sure why I had such a discrepancy the first time around. Yours looks spot on.

Greetings,
I'm looking for a plugin that will allow me to make a grid with paintnet. I have version 4.0.5 with Windows 8.1. I'd found a Gridmaker plugin earlier, but I was not able to install it.

Is there one that's more recent, available, and actually working? Thanks,
BH
EDIT: I discovered the plugin was installed. The application was buried under the "effects" menu and then under "render," which explains why I couldn't find it the first time around. The new issue I ran into is that there is no way to get the grid to match a specific size. The grid step runs on a scale of 1 to 1000, but even with that, on a canvas that's 8.5" wide, the grid cannot be made to run exactly 1/4" per square. On the right edge of the page, that grid is about 1/12th of an inch off. Suggestions?

Greetings,
I have not been able to install this plugin. I placed the downloaded dll file with the others for paintnet (also in the effects folder), but after relaunching paintnet, I did not see anything different or that had anything to do with making a grid. What's missing? Thanks

Okay, thanks! I did figure out what I was doing wrong. The latitude/longitude layer properties designated it as an "overlay." Swicthing it back to "normal" fixed the problem. It's all working fine now. Typical newb problem I guess!

Greetings
The Paint.Net tutorial shows tools to move layers forward or backward. I couldn't find these tools in the layers' drop down menu. Am I missing something? Thanks.
Edit ------------------------------
Never mind -- I did find out where these commands were hidden... I'm working on a map, and I'm trying to get latitude and longitude lines to overprint the actual map. As I moved the layer with the lat/longitude lines "forward" they don't appear to overprint the map in the background. Is there some other secret here to get the desired effect?
