  1. Thanks for the help. I have been trying to do this and I can't seem to get it right, I just don't know what I am doing wrong. Maybe someone could either tell me what I am doing wrong or just cut the person out of the background for me. I did everything the link to cut out images said but I can't get rid of the background. I used the line tool, drew around the image, used the magic wand and clicked inside the outline, then I hit Ctrl + I, to invert and then to the background layer and hit delete. But when I do that, it deletes the whole pic. it's driving me crazy! I want to cut her out of this pic, then I can shrink her and put her into an empty space in another pic.

I would appreciate any help possible.

    Thanks :)

  2. Thanks for all the answers. I am still new to this so I think I'll need the tutorials, Not sure what to do with the Alpha stuff and what is a grim color reaper? And I don't see a color replace tool. I have installed BoltBaits pack but I don't remember seeing one there.

It's a standard white background from a pic that you might pick off a website. I want to use the graphic without the background

Just a pdn file of what I explained. By draw, I simply meant to use this tool: :LineTool: (line tool) When you use that, you can just drag points around to fix it after you place it. You can also zoom in if you wish to be more precise.

PS ick=ew/yuck/bleh/yeargh/etc. when your object is really similar to the background, it gets really tough to make an outline between the two...lots of eye strain D:

Thank for your help. I am trying to figure out how to install BoltBaits plugin pack. It has a bunch of stuff that this program does not and another color palette and the feathering option, but I can't seem to get them to install.

  4. ick...your kitteh's white fur will make it pretty difficult. Here's what I would do:

    1. add a new layer and draw an outline around the stuff you want to keep. (use the line/curve tool)

    2. select the outside of your outline, then add another new layer and fill the selection with white or whatever color you wished it to be

    3. adjust the layer blend mode and opacity to your liking

    4. turn off the visibility of the outline layer

    5. use the feather or AA's_Assistant plugin to blend the new layer with your picture

Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I could us a light color in the background. I don't have a feathering tool and I seem to be having a problem getting the additional palette to work too, but I will try to get the back ground color to change at the least.

When you say "draw" I am guessing that you actually have to have some sort of artistic talent to do this stuff, because I don't :( I do know how to use the tools, just can't seem to use some of them too well. I could not draw an outline around that if my life depended on it. Too much carpel tunnel in the hands. Isn't there another way to cut that out of the pic, save it and then insert it into a colored background? Or is that the same as what you just told me to do.

    BTW, ick?

I don't know what is going on with the codes here, I tried to delete them 3x so I'm just going to re-post my reply here.

  5. BoltBait: I am sorry to be a Pain but I am still having a problem installing this so it shows up in the Paint.net program.

    • (:ColorPalettes: I have also included an update to my Rainbow Palette. This has been updated for this release of my plugin pack. It includes more colors and a better organization in "reduced window mode".
Copy the file Rainbow Palette.txt to your My Documents/Paint.NET User Files/Palettes folder and you can select it in your color docker window.
    :PlusButton:)

I do not find anything from Paint.net in My Documents, the whole thing was installed and unzipped into C/program files/Paint.net. Can you tell me what to do from here? Everything is unzipped but it seems that they are not in the right places. Maybe I should just uninstall everything and start again?

I am usually pretty good with installing programs onto my computer but this one has me confused for some reason.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    BBE

According to your instructions, it says that it should be in c:|documents and settings, but I do not see a "documents and settings" folder.

  7. Hello BoltBait, I wanted to thank you for this plug in. I have not used it yet but I'm sure it will be useful. I am new at this and I'm just learning how to use this. I do have a question though. I can't seem to find where to put the Rainbow Palette.txt file. I don't see where to put it in Documents.

Also, I followed your instructions and pasted all the dll files into the effects folder but when I open Paint.net, I don't see the new effects. I don't know how do "unblock" the dll's?

I am running Vista, if that helps. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

BTW, I am unemployed at the moment but when I get some work, I will be happy to donate for this :)

Thanking you in advance for your help,
