[How to Set canvas to 16:9 or 4:3 size for video work]

Image > Canvas Size

Check the 'By absolute size'

Uncheck the 'Maintain aspect ratio'

Type in the width and height you desire.

Now use 'Save As...,' to save a copy of the image (so you can reuse it as a prefabricated 16:9 template).

If you have several sizes for your images, but wish to retain the same ratio:

Open your 16:9 template and again use Image > Canvas Size.

This time check the 'Maintain aspect ratio' and type in one of the different dimensions (the other will automatically be updated to maintain the same ratio).

Image -> Canvas Size is what you are looking for. Simply set your canvas width and height to you preferred pixel ratio (1920x1080 or 1280x720, I'm guessing.)

I am brand new to Paint.Net program. I discovered via a tutorial video making a transparent title in PowerDirector 9 Ultra video editor. The demonstrator used Paint.Net to create a 16:9 ratio canvas... but since installing your program I cannot figure out how to create a canvas to match these 2 video sized canvases.
