Hi, I have a web background image, predominantly dark grey colour expect that at the top there is a light grey 100px high horizontal stripe about 400px from the top.
I need to increase the height of the dark grey section above the light grey stripe by 50px to accommodate a larger logo.
I've tried creating a new layer, same width and 50px high in dark grey and then merging to the background layer but this only results in an image the same size.
I've created a dark grey image, same width and 50px high, and then tried to copy and paste onto the background image but again without success.
I would appreciate some tips for what appears to be a simple task!
Thanks

Wow, wow, wow!
That was amazing. Worked like a dream.
I would never have known how to do that from the knowledge base.
Many many thanks Sarkut.
