If you're using the demo version of CaptureNX, once edited with the software you can only open and edit them in CaptureNX. So I doubt the error is in the plugin.

Definitely NOT using a demo version of CaptureNX.

Not working on NEF files created/saved with CaptureNX on Paint.Net v3.5.1.

"There was an unspecified error while opening the file"
