[Question about lightning]

Hi all...I just had a question for the more expirienced users out there...using paint.net is the first time ever I have tried my hand at graphic design and I love it...my question is...I have some lightning I drew and want to add it to a exsisting drawing Ive done...how do I add my lightning to my other drawing...any replies would be greatly appreciated and I hope to submit my work when Im done...thanks
