im using XP SP2 all updates
Paint.net 3.08
i have removed and reinstalled both Paint.net, and Divx player and codec.
it still happens.
whats happening is, that when go to
FILE>OPEN, and click the DESKTOP button
in the system tray the Divx update launches.
does this happen to anyone else?
I love Paint.net, but this is a major hassle.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

yes please excuse my enthusiasm
Euphoria doesnt even begin to describe what im feeling.
orgasmic? mmmmmm almost.
PDN TEAM- FYI-
I saw the update for this over on Neowin's site.
I had completely put PDN out of my mind,
when yesterday I saw it, and then,
I immediately downloaded 3.01 and installed it-
and my very first task-
open up a pic and doodle on it and save it-
no hassles! NONE!
Im SO elated! ( cant you tell?)
I primarily have been using PDN to help out on my website,
resizing pix, or adding text, PDN rocks in that dept.
fast- easy- wam-bam- lets get on with it.
quick n dirty type stuff.
now to learn how to do layers....
Technology is awesome- when it works.
Thanks for everything ! PDN is "just my speed" and im still learning.

A BIG THANK YOU!
I had written you guys off.
its GREAT to be back!
Paint.net is HANDS DOWN-
the single most used pic editor ive ever tried-
and ive tried A LOT OF THEM.
Photoshop is a JOKE for most NEW users.
"do what- to what- with what?"
most are NOT noob- or even newb- friendly.
* Fixed: and they chose to save their imagesWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you! thank you!
YOU GUYS ROCK!

EDIT:
by the way-
after it crashed ( well....actually, it froze up) several times trying to save a pic,
I uninstalled it and went on a world-wide-web-search
for an app to replace Paint.net.
YOULL BE HAPPY TO KNOW-
-THERE ISNT ONE.
Divx update launches when FILE > OPEN > DESKTOP

Okay, I have stumbled upon a workaround.
instead of launching Paint.net FIRST,
and then using the menu to find the pic i want to work on ,
merely just find the pic ( do not launch Paint.net)
then right click on the pic's icon and choose Open With, then select Paint.net.
problem solved!
just reorder the procedure.
and quit using the file>open>desktop menu.
thanks for the explanation about Divx, and its locating the first frame bit.
it explains to me and makes perfect sense.
im not about to start a feud between Divx and you guys, lol.
thats one shooting war better left unstarted.
...but if anyone else wants to pursue it, be my guest !
Have Fun!
Paint.net ROCKS!
