  1. I subscribe to the magazine Smart Computing. A nd they send out an email full of interesting little tid bits of info. And Sat April 16 2011 they sent out the following :Tip:

    Paint.net

If you’ve ever wanted more options out of your graphics program than, say, Microsoft Paint has to offer, look no further than Paint.net. It’s a powerful bit of freeware that has too many features to mention, but rest assured it can open a variety of graphics formats. Then you can do any number things—add effects, crop, add text, and more—that you would want to do with your graphics.

  2. I am not afraid to admit it - I am a techno-klutz. I have, ever since I joined, wanted to take one part of an image and paste it into something I'm creating. When I read the Cutting Out Images tutorial by Simon Brown I thought the quandry I've been in for years was over. But I find the tutorial is not Windows 7 friendly. When ever I press Ctrl-I to invert an image, as mentioned in the tutorial, I get a list of my favorites.

Is there an alternative for this direction. I've hot a monitor screen with a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution, and I'm trying to make wallpaper for it.
