I think I can get a fix in for the latest version of Outlook "365" in the 4.2.4 update that I'm planning on pushing out today.

As for Outlook 2010, I can't verify that the fix will work there, so that's still unknown.

Edit: Sorry, this is going to have to wait for 4.2.5. I don't have enough good information to make this fix just yet, and 4.2.4 needs to go out the door ASAP to fix some hangs and crashes when saving DDS images.

Thank you for everything you have done. It's a very fantastic application. I will be keeping an eye out for the 4.2.5 fix.

@DrDuckling_ yeah I was able to reproduce that issue myself. Outlook actually at fault here -- it's putting a bad (cropped) PNG onto the clipboard! I'll see if I can find a good workaround.

I'm really wondering how Microsoft managed to mess things up this bad

I have the latest version of Outlook that comes with Office 365, so I can definitely fix things for that. However. I don't have Outlook 2010 so I don't know if the fix will work there. The file that @Teehknal sent me was, unfortunately, not very useful -- I'm not sure why it didn't include more clipboard formats.

Do you have any idea on ETA if there is a fix or are we waiting for Microsoft to fix Outlook?

  3. +1 Similar issue but different canvas size.

    Software version:

    Paint.net 4.2.2

    Office365 Pro Plus 1908 (build 11929.20300)

    Steps taken:

Take a screenshot that is above canvas problem size. My canvas problem is 817 x 864. so I take a full-screen screenshot.

Paste said screenshot onto Outlook body (HTML format) NOTE: not an attachment.

Send it to myself or anyone.

Select the image and copy/paste onto Paint.net

Create new tab/canvas. Paint.net detected image size at 817x864.

Pasting the same image onto Word, msPaint, and other application results in original image size.

I have test with both gmail and outlook (microsoft not office365) and get the same result.
