You could probably apply concepts from this tutorial to achieve the effect you are looking for.
Looks interesting, I will give it a try. Thanks.

Oh, thanks for everyone's suggestion, but I finally found some at http://opengameart.org/content/gui-buttons-activehover. I would however still like to know how to make my own if anyone knows of a good tutorial.

Binary clocks usually just have dots for a display, if I understand them correct. Is this what you are trying to achieve?
Almost though, it needs to have somewhat of a 3D effect and there should be two, one with a slightly darker color than the LED when it is on.

How realistic does said LED have to be?
Well, fairly realistic. Otherwise the application looks really amateurish.

Download an LED font from dafont.com?
Here are some... http://www.dafont.com/search.php?q=led&page=1
Thanks, but those are pretty lame. Not quite the quality I was looking for. Anyway, they are 7-segment LEDs. I need a single LED.

I am not a really good paint user, but I need to create an LED for a binary clock program I am creating and I was wondering if there were any tutorials out there or if anyone knows how to create a realistic LED in Paint.NET. I found one on YouTube, but it was in French and it did not quite help me with what I am trying to do though it did allow me to see that I need to install the plugin pack so I could have the buttons style available. Now, I just need someone to show me how to make an LED.

Yes, this is exactly what I was looking for or close enough anyway. Thanks a lot.
