PEKL68
I am looking for the possibility of creating "dash dash dot" lines and curves. I'm already using the "dash dot" and "dash dot dot" lines frequently. Shouldn't be too difficult, but I'm lacking any programming skills... Have been going through the FAQ, the plugin message board and this one, but haven't found the answer yet. Maybe someone knows.
Myrddin
Hello PEKL68. Well, for the moment, there is no way for us everyday users to add or alter the line styles as of yet. Whether in future releases this will be made possible is yet to be seen, but is not my call to say either way. So you will have to continue the way you have, or find an alternate means of doing so. Perhaps, as a suggestion, the Borders N' Shapes plugin by pyrochild, where it can render shapes such as a rectangle, ellipse, arc and pie with such line styles as your desirable dash-dash-dot. Maybe applying the effect on a selected area then erasing the unnecessary parts could be of more convenience? Anyway, no, there is no way to change the current, in-built styles. Also: Shouldn't be too difficultOuch! Believe me, those words are virtually blasphemous around these parts, better not speak them too loudly .Hope this has answered you, PEKL68. david.atwell
Shouldn't be too difficultOuch! Believe me, those words are virtually blasphemous around these parts, better not speak them too loudly . Especially with this on it: ...but I'm lacking any programming skills... :-P Not a big deal. Obviously, it's not in the rules. But keep in mind that things you and I assume are easy, Rick loses sleep over. So we try to keep that sort of statement out of our conversation. As for your question, and to add on to Myrddin's excellent answer, the source code is available for the program; if you could get a programming-savvy friend to modify it for you. But that seems like a lot of effort for such a small inconvenience. :-P Still, it's there if you like. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

BoltBait
BoltBait Line tool plugin, i belieive had this option... Nope. First, my plugin was limited to straight lines only and secondly it had dashed lines and dotted lines but not dash-dash-dot lines. Curmudgeon
unless I needed to use it constantly, I'd probably just use a dashed line, then get creative with magic wand, and median blur...could create any sort of dashed/dotted line you wanted
Simon Brown
I will write a plugin - although this is not a guarantee.
PEKL68
Also: Shouldn't be too difficultOuch! Believe me, those words are virtually blasphemous around these parts, better not speak them too loudly . Sorry about that one. Yeah I noticed that there are plenty of effects and brushes etc as plug-ins... but no line tools. And I'll be using them as lines, not as borders of rectangles or anything. unless I needed to use it constantly, That's the point, I wil be using it a lot. Anyway, thanks for your answers. I'll just have to wait for the 3.43 version or so
