harold
You are aware, I hope, that that Cell processor is quite pointless for most games? It's very good for huge parallel tasks though (ray tracing, protein folding, etc) In that respect, the 360 is better suited for games (though the hardware is not strictly better in general) but since I don't actually own both I can not compare the games and gameplay etc which are of course more important (who would care about the processor if the games are fun, right?) I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed..
Mike Ryan
As well it is important to know that the Xbox 360 came out an entire year in advance over the PS3 giving the PS3 more time to develop into new technologies. While this may seem in favor of the PS3, you cannot deny the fact that Microsoft has given there fans everything they were promised on release while PS3 games such as 8 Days Later are just now entering production. Yata
This subject has gotten so worn out. The fact is, you're not going to get a correct answer because an average person probably isn't going to buy both of these expensive items. Dalton
I've played on both systems. Halo 3 on the 360. Call Of Duty 4 on the PS3. They aren't all that different. Even though I'm a major 360 fan, the PS3 is about even. :\ Buuuut, for what you pay for a Playstation 3... no way is it that nice. And seriously. Who cares about blu-ray? Because I sure don't. Maybe in about 5 years when the players aren't so expensive (some are over $800!). Well that's what I've got to say, Now I'm off to school. yay. MyBB Tutorials, check out my site. KonArtist
I say 360 is better some my disagree, but I have been told to get the Ps3, but I don't see why when the 360 has just about the same qualities. On the 360 I can still watch movies and listen to music, and I think the 360 may have better games Halo 3 the whole series that Ps3 doesn't have. And now 360 has Grand Theft Auto IV just about the most popular game that Play Station has. harold
Why should anyone care about blu-ray? It has evil DRM and it's not like DVD-quality is painfully bad (in fact, most movies aren't bad at 700MB with xvid). Granted, you could fit a longer movie onto a blu-ray disk if you don't change the quality, but a dual-layer DVD can contain a movie of what, 5 hours or so? Longer would just be plain ridiculous.. I will consider using them once the DRM has been cracked/removed/forbidden, for rarely long movies and perhaps backups (DVD region nonsense has fortunately been solved, so I don't mind that). 360 vs PS3, well, I'd vote PC since you can run all games on it (even if you need an emulator) (may also be possible if you install linux on a 360/PS3 though) I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed.. harold
I have, and I'm not impressed. But maybe that is because my friends TV isn't 3 meters wide edit: and why should it be, if it was 3 meters wide, we'd just have to sit further away to fit the entire screen into view - thereby destroying any possible increase in quality I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed.. R3VENGE
ok i doubt this thread will go very far because its just going to turn into a giant fanboy war.... im not a fanboy i like both consoles but i just like the ps3 more seeing as ive got every ps console ps1 ps2 ps3 and the psp i really hate the xbox controllers though...the ps3 ones are just so light and last really long! the xbox has some better games but the ps3 hasnt been out as long so just wait a while and there will be some amazing games psn id: R3V-fiR3
KonArtist
Yeah I cannot see it going far either since whatever console you had first like regular Play Station or Xbox and either get Play Station 2 or Xbox 360 which ever one you have first will probably be your favorite one since you are used to it. usedHONDA
I can sum up my opinion on the PS3 by simply posting these two links: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6162742/ http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-348-1.htm "The greatest thing about the Internet is that you can write anything you want and give it a false source." ~Ezra Pound twtr | dA | tmblr | yt | fb
HITMAN-X-
I don't play consoles any more as the console war only eats your money. I play all my games on computer now and seeing most games for consoles come out on computer I think I am better of. Even the games that are not put out for computer can be played on a computer. So both the PS3 and the 360 are worthless to me as the computer gives me more bang for the buck. Now I not saying that every game works for every computer, some people like me spend money on things like better video cards. However in the end it works out as most consoles makers will make new consoles for you to waste money on and if there anything like Nintendo they make them to not play the old games. So in the end buying upgrades for a computer and keeping all the games you want to be able to play just sounds good to me. However seeing this is about what console is better I would have to say the 360 is even though I don't play it. The reason is that it can be upgrade in most areas like a computer. Don't got Blue Ray then go buy a SATA Blue Ray drive and plug it in, need to update drivers to the newer models of 360 then go flash the ones on it now and update the drives, need a bigger hard drive then go install a bigger one, need a new laptop then get started on your 360. Just seems to have more options for the gamer. DEXTUT.COM

usedHONDA
N64 > XBOX360 > PS3 QFT, the N64 was the most revolutionary thing in video games at the time. Now the Xbox going from realistic to more realistic? Not very revolutionary. The Playstation going from somewhat realistic to Xbox360 standards? Not revolutionary at all And IMO, the 360 has a better feeling controller. pyrochild
The Dualshock controller is designed for Asian hands. Like mine. The 360 controller is designed primarily for the larger American hands. I can use a Dualshock for at least 3 hours before I feel any sort of discomfort, and the SIXAXIS even longer, since it's lighter having no rumblers. The XBox and X360 controllers, on the other hand, start killing my hands after only half an hour or so. ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! bbmus
dualshock 3 is going to have blu tooth vibrators. And also the controllers are very comfortable than the xbox360. As some of you say blu ray doesnt matter, or it is worse than nomal DVDs you should see a blu ray dvd on ps3 HDMI BIG difference.
TopHATslash
The fact is, is that the 360 is more competitive for most people. You gotta pay for online play, plus MLG (Major League Gaming) has revolved around M$ and Bungie. So, saying this, means that if you are competitive at all, go for the 360. The PS3 is better for the casual gamer. For goodness sake! You don't even have to pay to play online. I preffer the 360 over anything made by Sony. TopHATslash
I'm not saying either is better.. I'm stating the given facts. Sony doesn't give a care one way or the other because they don't even invest most of their time into the PS3. Microsoft has been coming out with stuff every other.. half of M$ is working on the xbox.. probably 10% of Sony is working on the PS3.

TopHATslash
no. You have to buy a $100 thing to plug into the back. That's probably the worst/only thing bad about 360.
