z1812
Hi All, I am new to Paint Net. I would like to tint photos or some selections in the photo. How does one do this. I have done this by hand by tinting black and white photos. Now I would like to do it digitally. Any help will be appreciated. regards John
david.atwell
The easiest way I've found is by adding a new layer on top and coloring it with the blending mode on Multiply. It usually yields some pretty good results. Does this help? Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Simon Brown
Alternatively, try downloading Ed Harvey effects (stickied in the plugin section) - there is a tint plugin in there AFAIK.

z1812
Hi All, Thanks for the info and suggestions. Both approaches work very well and I can see where one or the other may work better for a different situation. Now I am off to find info about colour palettes. Thanks Again John
