Feature Request: Omnilayer Effects

Recommended Posts

I think every effect should have a button on it called "Omnilayer" that makes it effect all layers. It is really annoying to blur/distort/whatever every layer separately!

This is kind of the point of having layers: To be able to affect each layer with a separate effect. If you need to have all layers get the same treatment, you either don't create layers and just run the effect or you collapse the layers and run it. I don't see a point, even if this were possible, to do something of this nature.

That's not possible because effects and Adjustments can't access other layers besides the one selected... that's a Plugin restringment.

'course it's possible - if PDN calls the effect/adjustment for each layer. Wouldn't even have to change plugins for that.

I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed.. :(

Doesn't mean Paint.NET couldn't start up "N" copies of the plugin renderer...

My C# feeling tells me that it wouldn't be much work to add

And I'm sure you're an expert in the Paint.NET code base, and what it takes to design, develop, document, test, and ship a feature to a million users.
