harold
Well if we are to ignore all those "oh no duplicate thread!" warnings, then: My favorite OS is definitely Linux - that is, some distro's anyway. But I use Windows (XP of course!) more. There are more games for windows and there is Visual Studio for windows (and not for linux afaik) and those 2 things are taking up most of my time. why not a "worst OS" for a change? TI-OS (z80 and m68k, for their calculators with those processors: 83/84 series(z80) and 89 series (m68k)) is just aweful, it contains more serious bugs than Windows (windows probably contains more, but you'll never see them) And the z80 version only uses about 32KB of the 128KB ram that is present on the (TI 84+) hardware (ok the USB routines use a buffer in a part of the "unused" ram, and some 3rd party programs use some of the additional ram). Personally, yes I would agree with you. Although many people are in the situation where they run one OS at home and their work/school runs another. I know the middleschool I used to go to ran Mac OS X. Quote Deviant Art

Simon Brown
I think you can run windows applications under linux in some application called "wine" or something like that From what I have heard, Microsoft puts in safeguards to prevent its software from running of Wine. Paint.NET needs the .NET framework to run which is written by Microsoft.

Mike Ryan
Wine is done by the Mono team, so I believe they are (or could be) referred to in the same respects.
