k.digennaro
I was thinking about a game where some one would draw a simple image. Using effects only. For example an abstract like this: Edit: oops i just realized i used a gradient on that image lol, but i think you get the idea of the game. Then people take turns guessing how the image was made. For example: Person 1: Random Lines and Shape 3D? K.Digennaro: Wrong Person 2: Random Lines and Twist? K.Digennaro: Correct. Then the person who guessed right first would get to post the next image. Any one like this idea? I was thinking about some rules. Maybe Rules - May use up to 5 effects per image. Must specify how many effects were used. -Who ever guesses right draws the next image. -EFFECTS ONLY (this means effects only, you cant even use the paint bucket etc.) Support Our Troops, End The War

k.digennaro
I believe Rainshadow did this same thread once in the past... never went past a page though. i searched and didnt see any thing, but i probably searched the wrong thing. it seems like a good idea thought id throw it around and see what people thought. Ash recently did something similar with me, i was trying to create something, and instead of just telling me exactly how to do it she sent me the PDN file and then allowed me to ask questions. I learned a lot that way, thats the reason i thought id throw this around Support Our Troops, End The War

david.atwell
No, Ash is a man. The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. david.atwell
It actually does sound like an interesting idea, but I think we should discuss it a bit more first. How would it work? What rules would we have? Who would post the original images? How would the winner be decided? The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... k.digennaro
It actually does sound like an interesting idea, but I think we should discuss it a bit more first. How would it work? What rules would we have? Who would post the original images? How would the winner be decided? Thanks for the support david and for getting us back on task. First: How would it work? I was thinking first of all, just to simply things, I would post the first image. Then other members would post guess on what the image was made up of. The game would probably be effects only, just because it makes it guessable.(Please let me know if that doesn't make sense.) People would guess until some one guessed correctly on all the effects used in the image. Let me create a quick example, hopefully more clearer than the original post. Example Here's my image. I created it using 2 effects. Have fun guessing! Person A: Clouds, and Dents? PersonB: Wrong Person C:Random Lines and Clouds? Person B: correct! You win! Now you get to draw an image! What rules would we have? Great question, rules would be very important in this game. I'm thinking about this game as more of a teaching tool then a contest of who's a better artist. Rules are something I always hesitate to create on my own, because I feel like everyone should have equal input in creating rules. My ideas were: -Effects only! No adjustments! No tool Bar! -You can only use up to 5 effects on a drawing! (This makes guessing a little easier.) * I was thinking maybe making everyone rate their drawings (easy, medium, hard scale). Something like this. Easy- Use of 1-3 effects in this drawing. Medium- Use of 4 effects in drawing. Hard- Use of 5 effects in drawing. -People may guess as many times as they want, but only one time in a row. -The first person to guess the effects right gets the create the next image. Who would post the original images? *answered above. How would the winner be decided? *also answered above. oma
actually that's sort of what we did in reverse using one picture and add ons viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4606&hilit=picture+add+on+game remember that game the person above you made one change only and said what they did. this is where I learned one step at a time. I could see exactly how a picture could be manipulated by different effects and color changes. Its also where I learned which plugins I wanted to download and which I didn't care or the effects. even now i sometimes refer back to that to refresh in my mind how some things affect others within a picture. we've had so many new plugins since then maybe it would be a good idea to bring that game out of retirement. OMA yeah, ive actually never seen that game before, it would be similar to this, but this is almost the opposite at the same time. You would be guessing how the image was created, for some of our super geniuses on this site they might just know , but i was hoping people would try to recreate the image, to learn about plugins and learn the capabilities of plug ins. oma
true either game would be nice. although I did like that old one because I didn't have to down load a plug in and attempt something until I saw how others were using it. I'll participate in either although I do prefer the old game as anyone can join in no one wins or loses. and its already started rules are done everything I'm sure you'd have to get ok to start up the old thread again. but as I said previous post its where I learned the most. oma
any of the mods I'm sure could ok this for you when they have a chance. perhaps they will even play along as it is a great teaching tool and will cut down on duplicate questions on useage and how'd you do that sort of thing. I'll step in once in awhile when the game gets a bit slow to help you out. ciao My Deviant Art Gallery Oma's Paint.Net gallery
david.atwell
Sounds like there's support for it. Let's do it! :-) I'll lock this thread.
