The crystal one I imagine would work okay...but I'm not sure, try experimenting, Oma, I'm sure you'll figure something out.

Edit: I was trying out different effects and discovered that noise :AddNoise: works well, just make the color saturation 0 and the intensity about 23. It looks pretty good for skin.

I made this:

metaltexture.png

in a quick... say... 30 minute job, rushing the detail etc. It was based on this: http://div.dyndns.org/EK/tutorial/texture/ I took some creative liscense making the square border rounded and the blocks in the background became shutters.

Any Comments?

*A thanks to Salu who did give me comments. As for whats behind it I believe I might make a light shine through.*

@ Oma:

you could try texturing the skin/flesh tones by adding a new layer, fill with black, generate noise and cut the layer's transparency. Then recolouring with a colour similar to the flesh you used (and a high tolerance setting...

will try add sample below (crosses fingers)

thanks everyone on the advise on how to get the craigy skin. I did manage last night. used at least 10 layers of the under skintone very low transparencies with small amount of noise on each. two or three of the layers were then gassiaun blurred and the bottom layer of skin tone was the the full alpha and on that I did film (found under Photo)

the finished fellow is now in my Deviant art gallery you can all look at him there by just following the link within my sig below.

remember any of the ones in my gallery just click on them and they will come up larger and you are more than welcome to leave a comment there.

:D
