Tried to make glassy ball, but it didn't work out and i ended up with this.balltoybm2.png

Hey now were talking good directions .

What you did wrong

Opacity isnt set right, more transparency needed. overall layering isnt complete and thats about it. This is how some of my glassy pieces look in some stages.

Tips.

Always have the base image ready to put on top of a layer like this , dont tweak the colors till the pixels break up and become unuseable because its hard to reverse sometimes. When crating an orb think of testing layering ideas

create a base with the original orb

create several layers with different layeringf properties and run them through the adjustment of layer properties leaving the base original. test it before you render. Always bear nin mind that layering and luminosity can make and break a glass texture.

Hi all. I just discovered Paint.net a few days ago when I became interested in digital editing for the first time. I'm really impressed by some of the awesome images you guys have created, so I got right to work on some of my own. I'm still working from the "utter and complete novice to everything" position, but I wanted to share what I've got so far. If nothing else, I'm hoping this will be good for me to be able to look back on when I get a lttle better!

Lol, very nice. All the yellow ones fell off, it's understandable. :P

I suggest tilting the sky a little, so that it creates a little bit of perspective (layers -> rotate/zoom).

Indie, you don't have to repost things... There's tons of things that I made and I love and that I didn't get commented on... Didn't repost them... but you got commented on the sig a lot (rate the above user's sig thread).
