Simon Brown
That probably explains it. Two questions: Do they need to be that big? Are there some you rarely use?
MasterJocke
That probably explains it.Two questions: Do they need to be that big? Are there some you rarely use? Just installd it, but I think I know where the error is, the program that "converts" the brushsets to png freezed up. thanks for the help, and great plugin btw! Andrew D
Sabrown, does the plugin hold all the brushes as temporary memory? I can't think of any other reason why it would effect memory usage that badly.

Andrew D
does the plugin hold all the brushes as temporary memory? Yes Why not make it so that each brush is loaded as when it's used? It optimizes performance, for one, as there's no point in a plugin loading up x amount of brushes if the user is only going to use a few of them. HITMAN-X-
sabrown100 I am not sure if this been asked yet but will you be adding a button to the plugin so people could delete brushes instead of having to go to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\My Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes and finding the brush you no longer want. dondeena
Excellent plugin! Try a PNG brush with an alpha channel for the best results! A few minor requests and quibbles: Loading a brush duplicates the existing brushes in the column on the left. Spacing doesn't seem to do anything - would be nice to have more range (ie 1,2,5,10,20,50,100,200,500,1000,2000,5000) (If this is intended to skip image placements when drawing a line) Scatter would be nice - user could specify the diameter of the random spray Aside from the above, this plugin is the most important add on for Paint.NET. Very well done! Cheers! Don White (The attached file was made with a rainbow teardrop with the background cut out. This was drawn onto a black background)
Simon Brown
Loading a brush duplicates the existing brushes in the column on the left. That function is only intended for installing new brushes. To use an existing one, simply click it. Spacing doesn't seem to do anything Spacing is only applied when you draw with the right mouse button. dondeena
I have enclosed two partial screenshots to show the problem on the brush list ... BugAddBrush1.jpg shows the palette BEFORE adding ONE brush. BugAddBrush2.jpg shows the repeating brushes AFTER adding ONE brush. Hope this bug reports helps. Thanks for the quick answer. Right click. Got it! Cheers! Simon Brown
Try placing your brushes in the folder I mentioned in the first post instead.
dondeena
True, this is a good solution for dropping a bunch of brushes into Paint.NET at one time. We users can keep a shortcut to the custom brushes directory for quick access. Note: On XP the (complete) path is actually - C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes (replace with your login name) Don't know about Vista. In my programming, I generally avoid using "Documents and Settings". I prefer to keep resources in the program installation directory. Easier to back up and much more intuitive to find. For one brush at a time, it is easier to use the 'Add Brush' button, then close and reopen the Custom Brush tool. But, it should be an easy fix to the refresh brush columns properly after an "Add Brush" if you ever revisit the code. Bottom line. Thanks. Brilliant addition to Paint.NET. Simon Brown
I may consider adding a feature to load a guideline image from a file.
Mike Ryan
Please! Dont even consider it, simply allow it! Talk to Curtis about figuring out he can import layers from a .PDN so that we can set guideline image(s) (or layers). If you do this alone, you will win. Champjev
Problem: I had a problem with Paint.net's effect; the custom brushes. When I attempted to use it a pop-up came that said there was a unhandled error and to check the crash log.
