Rick Brewster
I did an interview for Nate Mook over at BetaNews.com, check it out if you're interested. http://www.betanews.com/article/Intervi ... 1141071978 Interview: A Look Inside Paint.NETIn the two years since it began as a senior project, Paint.NET has surged in popularity around the world and its developers continue the open source work from their new jobs at Microsoft. BetaNews sat down with project lead Rick Brewster to gain insight into Paint.NET, which he calls "Photoshop for everyone." Microsoft may not be known for its support of open source, but the company mentored the software in its early stages and Paint.NET is used internally on the Redmond campus. For now, however, Paint.NET remains an "unofficial" project and Brewster says it -- and the code inside -- will remain free. Version 2.6 is now available for download. BetaNews: Let's start with a little background on Paint.NET. How did the project begin and what was Microsoft's involvement? Crazy Man Dan
(check out the "Glass Orbs" tutorial by Crazy Man Dan for an example of a good tutorial) I'm famous! \m/ >_< \m/ Quote I am not a mechanism, I am part of the resistance; I am an organism, an animal, a creature, I am a beast. ~ Becoming the Archetype
ShimmeryDaze
Lol@Dan. That IS a good tutorial, I've followed it several times just for fun. I think the biggest feature that we can start yelling about is that v3.0 will have the ability to open multiple images within the same instance of Paint.NET ("MDI"). Awesome!!! Rick Brewster
You work for microsoft!!!!How old are you and who are the other people who work on paint.net? Just like it says in the article and in Help->About, it's me, Tom, and Dennis. I'm 24, I think Tom is 22 or something. I've only met Dennis once (he's from Ireland), I think he's in the same range. SearedIce
Lol, aatwo, thanks for thinking I'm important! As you may have read, PDN started as a project at WSU. For one, I live on the east coast, and for two, I am still a senior in high school! I'm not an official Paint.Net developer, but I like to try to help. Bug reports are probably the best way to help, if you're interested. For some reason I doubt that Microsoft employees get to play 360 all day...lol...
