...as that would be a retrievable format, yes.

Exept that the person who is trying to claim your work could be blackmailing Da staff to change the info in the database and vice versa. No format is 100% retrievable, really.

Now you're just getting ridiculous. Can anyone go through any number of illegal and immoral acts to claim copyright for themselves? Sure they could. Are things such as this very likely? No. Copyright is not infallible; I don't think anyone is claiming such a thing.

What is the copyright law in India like?

It borrows heavily from British copyright law, as India's copyright act was signed into law in 1911 when it was a colony. It also borrows extensively from French, Russian, and American copyright law. Thank Nehru for that.
